BAR To PSI publishes pressure-conversion tools and explanatory content to help people interpret pressure values accurately. These guidelines describe how we create and maintain that information.

Purpose and scope

Our content is intended for general educational and reference use. It covers pressure units such as bar, PSI, pascal, kilopascal, megapascal, atmosphere, and kilogram-force per square centimetre (kgf/cm²). It is not a substitute for an equipment manual, an engineering assessment, or professional safety advice.

How we establish accuracy

Conversion calculators use defined unit relationships and apply the conversion factor consistently. For example, 1 bar equals exactly 100,000 pascals and 1 kgf/cm² equals 0.0980665 MPa. We check calculator logic and displayed examples against these relationships before publishing updates.

Where a term can be ambiguous, we explain the assumption. For example, pressure searches using “kg” ordinarily refer to kgf/cm², not kilogram mass. We also distinguish gauge pressure from absolute pressure when that distinction affects interpretation.

Sources and editorial review

We base unit definitions and technical explanations on recognized measurement references and established engineering practice, including standards and guidance from organizations such as the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM) and the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Content is reviewed for mathematical accuracy, clarity, and consistency before publication or material revision.

Updates and corrections

We review content when a calculation issue, unclear explanation, or relevant standards update is identified. If we find a material error, we correct it as soon as practical and update this page or the affected page where appropriate.

Editorial independence

Calculator results and technical explanations are not influenced by advertisers or commercial partners. We aim to present neutral, practical information that users can verify with the stated formulae and unit definitions.
